The ADN program also requires clinical rotations in both inpatient and outpatient care settings.

Advanced Placement into ADN Program for Military Personnel

Advanced placement is defined as entering the nursing program at a level beyond the first semester. Applications are available only during the application periods noted below.

The Nursing Department offers advanced placement opportunities that permit students to obtain credit for previous education or for other acquired knowledge in the field of nursing including military education and experience, Licensed Vocational Nurses, or other healthcare workers. A challenge exam may be required.

Individuals who have held Military Health Care Training may be eligible to receive credit for previous education training. According to the SSKI Catalog, “The College will conduct an evaluation of previous education and training for all Veterans and eligible persons, grant appropriate credit, shorten training period proportionally, and notify the Veterans Administration and student accordingly.”

Challenge Credit examinations may apply and will follow the processes outlined in the SSKI Catalog.
