Military Granting of Credit, Policy & Procedure

Military Service

When a student service member is called to attend his/her Military service as obligated by the Federal and State law and when stop attending the school, SSKI School of Nursing will work with the affected service member to identify solutions that will not result in student debt for the returned portion.
Any remaining refund will be sent back to the service branch.
Prior Credit Evaluation for Veterans: If a new student has attended other colleges/universities, they must provide SSKI School of Nursing with official copies of all transcripts from those institutions immediately. They must also submit for evaluation their military and vocational transcripts.

NOTE: If they have thirty (30) or more units from previous coursework (including SSKI), the College MUST have transcripts on file and have them evaluated BEFORE students can be certified for benefits. Payment of VA educational benefits may be suspended until SSKI School of Nursing is able to notify the VA of how much previous credit SSKI School of Nursing is granting the student based on the on the information supplied in the transcripts.

In granting credits the school must evaluate all the education courses based on AEC. They must submit their transcript official copy from the Private Postsecondary school. Student must also complete competency placement exam (CPE) with 85% score or higher.

If we are to grant any credit for previous work experience in the subject matter, these things must be met:

  • Submit a resume with work experience.
  • Get written documentation from an employer minimum of 5 years of work experience related to the subject matter.
  • Submit all active registry credentials.
